Broadway’s Billy Elliot to Hold Second Annual Open Call for Ballet Girls

Break out your tutus, girls, Billy Elliot is holding its second annual open call. On September 17, 2011, the show will be on the lookout for the latest batch of talented youngsters to join its ranks as Ballet Girls. Sign-ups for the open audition will begin at 10AM and will take place at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre.
According to a statement from the show, “Billy Elliot is on the lookout for dancers with strong tap skills from 8-12 years old to shine as Billy Elliot’s Ballet Girls. The production is seeking a variety of shapes and sizes (tiny, chubby, lanky, quirky, etc) with expressive character and lots of personality—not your traditional ballerina.”
